Best Buddies Application

The goal of Best Buddies is to foster friendships between students with and without disabilities, making Bixby Middle School an inclusive middle school for everyone.

 

This is an opportunity to foster one-to-one friendships between individuals with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities. Best Buddies also provides leadership opportunities and will help educate and empower people with and without IDD to become leaders and advocates for each other.  This elective is open to 7th and 8th grade students.


You will: 

  • Develop friendships with students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities  

  • Participate in and develop activities for a unified physical education class 

  • Support Bixby Special Olympians 

  • Learn and practice leadership skills 

  • Learn and model how to advocate for yourself and others

  • Plan and participate in fun and inclusive activities at school
