THE HELPFUL ARENA TEAM involves you working 3 x 8 hour shifts between Thursday and Sunday, with one full day off (SPECIFIC DAY OFF NOT ARRANGED UNTIL YOU ARE ON SITE) . You'll receive training and work with the Team Leader to ensure you are familiar with the Festival Arena and key information such as where facilities are and set times, so you can anwer any questions from festival goers. You'll work in pairs or trios, so will never work alone.

Online Health and Safety and Counter Terrorism training must be completed before you volunteer.  This will be nearer the time of the festival, and is free but compulsory.

Working as a HELPFUL ARENA TEAM member means you camp on the staff campsite with other SHU volunteers, will make new friends and get to enjoy lots of the festival as you'll be working in the arena and have plenty of time free to enjoy the rest of the festival.

Just you?  No problem, you can be confident that you'll work and camp with other SHU students on all manner of courses, we make sure that no one is left out!  We have onsite SHU staff and interns, who are there for you, to make your experience a great one.

You will need camping gear - tent, sleeping bag etc -- we camp together in the staff camping area and you must camp with the SHU possey. Word of warning - it can get chilly at night, we'll send you a recommended kit list if your application is successful.

PLEASE NOTE IMPORTANT INFO:
You'll need to be available for the dates shown for each role.
LEEDS 2024 is a 70,000 capacity festival, is very busy and can be noisy and full on at peak times.  
You'll walk a lot each day, to and from the campsite and whilst working.  
We will hold briefing sessions in March, April and June and information will be sent to you by email.  It's really important that you respond to emails and any requests for information promptly, so keep checking your uni emails regularly.
