WWFM Market Manager Intern Application

Thank you for your interest in Western Wake Farmers Market!

About Us

The mission of Western Wake Farmers Market (WWFM) is to provide residents of western Wake County and surrounding communities with a local resource for direct access to fresh food and products from regional farmers and artisans while promoting a more connected community through events and educational opportunities at the market. We have partnered with the adjacent Morrisville Education Garden to expand our education goals and increase our donations of fresh produce to a local food pantry, and we are proud to participate in the SNAP program at WWFM, thereby increasing our outreach to bring healthy, nourishing food to all, regardless of income.

About The Position

WWFM is seeking a Market Manager Intern to work under the supervision of the WWFM Board of Directors to sustain and grow the market during the 2025 summer season: approximately May 12-August 13. This position is a temporary internship that includes two weeks of training with our current Market Manager before he is absent for the summer with his own internship. Since the duties of the Intern will be consistent with the Manager's while he is out of town, the terms "Manager" and "Intern" may be used interchangeably in this application.

The Market Manager is the “face” of the market and is the first point of contact for customers and vendors (current and prospective). They act as a liaison with vendors, Town of Morrisville staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors members on market day and other days. The Market Manager provides consistency and management of the market on a week-to-week basis and works with the Board to plan the trajectory of the market on longer time scales so that our community engagement and education and outreach goals can be achieved.

Nature of the Position

The Market Manager Intern position is a part-time position totaling 20 hours/week, with remote work and in-person outreach during the week and required in-person hours on Saturdays (7am-1pm). Pay is $18/hour.  For more details, please visit www.westernwakefarmersmarket.org/employment.

On a weekly basis, the Manager/Intern also creates content or enters data for a variety of written materials: newsletter, vendor updates, social media posts, market reports, etc. which require either the manual dexterity for keyboarding or equivalent accommodations to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent results.
