The CBC is a volunteer citizen science bird census where birder/volunteers will be covering the 15-mile diameter CBC circle to count birds between 8am-4pm on Sunday, Dec 15th. In winter, birds tend to be concentrated at sources of food, both natural ones and backyard bird feeders. Knowing locations of local bird feeders is tremendously helpful for the CBC effort, and we encourage you to register your feeder with ACES for this event. Volunteers would visit sometime between 8am-4pm on count day, and would discreetly and respectfully spend a few minutes to tally up birds. The value of CBC date gathered by volunteers throughout the Americas is tremendous and an effective way to help birds!
