~An Inter-School Team Tournament~
The Hong Kong TCA Scholastic Championship 2024 organized by The Chess Academy of ActiveKids
will take place on June 2, 2024. This will be a special and meaningful Interschool Charity Event whereby a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Medical Foundation, a reputable nonprofit organization dedicated to providing medical care and support to underprivileged children in Hong Kong.
The format of this interschool event is a competition among schools in Hong Kong. There will be 3 Divisions: Secondary, Upper Primary and Lower Primary sections and a school may enter as many teams for each division, each team will have 4 players and a captain. There will be overall school winners, as well as Individual board winners.
Event Details are as follow:
Date & Time: June 2, 2024 (Sunday); 9:00am – 6:00pm
Venue: Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Kowloon East
Tower 5, No. 3 Tong Tak Street, Tseung Kwan O, HK
Format: 7 rounds Swiss
Time control: 15 mins + 5 sec
Points: Every match victory will be awarded with 2 points, draw 1 and lose 0
Tiebreaks: 1. Direct Encounter 2. Game points 3.Buchholz 4. Best board 1
Section: Lower Primary, Upper Primary and Secondary
Awards: Trophies for Top 3 School Teams, and Best Board Winners in all section;
Medals for Top 5 board winners in all section;
Everyone will receive a certificate!
Lunch: Further details will be provided.
Entry fee: $1000 per team for early registration on or before May 14, 2024,
and $2000 per team afterwards.
Teams Composition:
The teams will be set as 4 players. All the players must belong to the
same school.
Ranking of the teams
The rank of the teams will be determined by:
1. Fide Rating
2. Results from the last tournaments individually or team.
3. TCA Coach assessment.
The rank of the teams will be uploaded 2 days before the tournament and no claims will be accepted on this.
Extra rules
- All the teams must be assigned a captain.
- Captains must be present in all rounds to sign the final results.
Registration:

A registration is complete once the name list and the payment have
been received and confirmed by TCA. There
will be no refund for withdrawal after registration.
