LCAP: A Focus on Accountability
Bonsall Unified School District is required to develop, adopt, and annually update a three-year Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP is required to identify annual goals, specific actions geared toward implementing those goals and must measure progress for student subgroups across multiple performance indicators based on eight priorities set by the State. The eight priorities fall under three main categories: Conditions for Learning, Engagement, and Student Outcomes
CONDITIONS FOR LEARNING: Priorities 1, 2, & 7
Priority #1: BASIC SERVICES  -  Compliance with Williams requirements, sufficient instructional materials, and facilities in good repair

Priority #2: IMPLEMENTATION OF STATE STANDARDS  -  Implementation of the Common Core State Standards, English Language Development Standards, as well as the Next Generation Science Standards. Implementation includes how the programs and services will enable English Learners (ELs) to access the academic and performance standards and the English Language Development Standards.

Priority #7: COURSE ACCESS  -  The extent to which students have access to, and are enrolled in, a broad course of study that includes core subject areas including the programs and services developed and provided to economically disadvantaged students, English Learners, foster youth, and students with exceptional needs.
ENGAGEMENT: Priorities 3, 5, & 6
Priority #3: PARENT INVOLVEMENT  -  Parent involvement, including efforts the school district makes to seek parent input in making decisions.

Priority #5: STUDENT ENGAGEMENT  -  Student engagement is measured by multiple indicators, but not limited to rates associated with attendance, chronic absenteeism, dropout (middle and high school), and high school graduation.

Priority #6: SCHOOL CLIMATE  -  School climate as measured by multiple indicators including, but not limited to student suspension and expulsion rates, as well as other local measures assessing safety and school connectedness.
STUDENT OUTCOMES: Priorities 4 & 8
Priority #4: Student Achievement  -  Student achievement as measured by multiple indicators including, but not limited to, assessment data, college readiness, and language proficiency.

Priority #8: Other Student Outcomes  -  Student outcomes as measured by multiple indicators, but not limited to, assessment data in other required areas of study including physical education and the arts.

State Priority #1: Basic Services  -  Access to appropriate textbooks, learning materials, and credentialed teachers is important to ensuring students succeed in school. BUSD ensures all students have textbooks and access to all of the materials they need for their classes. Additionally, BUSD understands that having a safe, clean, and functional school facilities are important to student learning.
