Description:
This presentation will address cultural considerations for counselors when working with parents from different cultural backgrounds using child-centered play therapy and filial therapy. Participants will experience using skills designed to demonstrate understanding of cultural diversity in their work with parents when they use child-centered and filial therapy. Participants will be able to describe the impact that the growing number of diverse families in the United States has on our work as clinicians. Participants will be able to discuss cultural considerations when discussing child-centered play therapy and filial therapy with diverse parents.
