Little District Books is an independent bookstore that hosts many kinds of events and loves welcoming authors. Our store is a celebration of LGBTQIA+ authors and stories, and it's mission is to represent the full spectrum of LGBTQIA+ identities and aims to uplift local authors, independent publishers, and increase access to queer literature. We strive to be a welcoming, comfortable, and equitable space in our store, virtually, and in the greater DC area through community events.

RESPONSE TIME: We receive many inquiries each week. Book events are generally booked 3-4 months in advance, but may be scheduled on shorter notice. We are only able to respond to events we are interested in hosting, but this can take up to 1-2 months from submission of inquiry.

Types of Events - Place choose the one below that best fits your plan. *

Book launch - a celebratory event and reading for a new book offered for the first time

Single author reading - a reading from a book(s) by an author with the power to draw significant audience on their own

Combined author reading - a shared reading with several authors, usually with related books or a common theme

Story time - a picture book reading that includes age-appropriate activities, games or songs

Readings for Writers - 1-3 authors who read their work and also offer information about the writing process - perhaps a craft lesson, showing how a piece was edited, talking about the genre, etc

Topic panel - 2 or more authors/teachers/activists discussing a topic of interest to our customer base

Store-Hours book signing - a table will be provided for you to stay two hours during our store hours and sign books
