Diocese Family Camp - 2019 Staff Application
The 3rd Annual Diocese of Worcester & New England Family Camp will be held October 4-6, 2019 at the St. Methodios Faith & Heritage Center in Contoocook, NH.

APPLICATIONS: Please apply by September 1, 2019. After that date, applications will be accepted if additional staff is needed.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE:  All staff must provide their own transportation to and from camp. Staff should plan to arrive on Friday of Fall Camp by 5:00 PM.  Camper & Family check-in will begin on Friday, October 5 at 7:00 PM, and ends at 1:00 PM on Sunday afternoon.  Staff must be available for the entire session, unless noted on this application.

Staff: Fall Camp/Family Camp Staff must be at least 18 years old and have graduated high school. Counselors will be selected based on need according to the number of families/campers that attend, and relative experience in youth ministry and camping programs. Counselors will be assigned responsibilities and expected to participate in all scheduled activities.  Each counselor will stay in a cabin at camp with 7 campers.  Selected counselors will attend at no charge.

INSURANCE:  All counselors should be covered by their family policy. Any costs incurred by the Camp in providing required medical treatment such as hospital and/or doctor's appointments, prescriptions, etc., will be billed to the counselor.

MEDICATIONS:  Any prescription medication brought must be in its original labeled prescription container.  All medications will be collected and dispensed by the medical staff.

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring either a sleeping bag or sheets & blanket, a pillow, and towels. Please remember to pack toiletries & personal items, an alarm clock, casual clothes for the weekend, and a nice outfit for Divine Liturgy on Sunday morning. Activities include fishing, canoeing, sports, Arts & Crafts. Please check the weather report, and plan accordingly.

DO NOT BRING: Please do not bring alcohol, tobacco, or weapons.  We will provide all the elements that you will need to have a safe, fun, and spiritual weekend.

FURTHER INFO: You will receive notification of selection and a copy of the tentative schedule for the weekend, along with any other information that you will need to prepare for the weekend.

As a volunteer staff member for the 2019 Staff Family Camp, I agree to participate in all scheduled activities, and fulfill the duties that are assigned to me. Responsibilities of staff members will include: supervision of campers at all times; leading/assisting to lead discussions, Christian Education, and/or other activities. More information will be sent out prior to Family Camp detailing specific responsibilities. I understand all reasonable safety precautions will be taken at all times by Family Camp and its agents during Family Camp. I understand that participating in Family Camp will bring certain risks of injury to myself. I understand the possibility of unforeseen hazards and know the inherent possibility of risk. I agree not to hold the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese, Family Camp, St. Methodios Faith & Heritage Center, their leaders, employees, and/or volunteer staff liable for damages, losses, diseases, or injuries incurred by the subject of this form.
