·Steel Pedestrian Bridge Project in an Urban City at a road intersection.
·Total length of 112m, max. span of 44m and width of 4m.
·Complete Project to be done using Steel Hollow Sections (RHS/SHS).
·Structural system to comprise of modular repeatable units.
·To be designed for Gravity, Wind, Earthquake loads as per IRC Standards.
·Truss-Portal for the Primary system, Fixed Base Connections for the support.
·Isolated Foundations to be provided for foundation system.
Flow of the Course
· Complete step-by-step approach will be adopted.
· Discussion on the different configurations for a Steel Bridge.
· Understanding the GA drawing provided by Urban Architect.
· Initial Planning of structural framing system.
· Modeling using ETABS/STAAD.
· Calculation for Gravity, Live and Pedestrian Loads as per IRC Standards.
· Calculation for Wind and Earthquake Loads as per IRC Standards.
· Load application on ETABS/STAAD.
· Analysis and Design using ETABS/STAAD.
· Design of Steel members using ETABS/STAAD and MS Excel spreadsheets.
· Connection Design using Idea Statica and MS Excel spreadsheets.
· RCC Pedestal and Isolated Foundation design using SAFE.
· Introduction to Drawing Development using AUTO CAD.
· BOQ preparation using MS-Excel.
· Design Calculation Report preparation.
