MDAC is a partnership of self-advocates, family members, and Down syndrome organizations from across the state of Maryland, who advocate on behalf of individuals with Down syndrome and their families. MDAC takes the fundamental position that all rights, privileges, and opportunities enjoyed by other Maryland residents should be readily available to individuals with Down syndrome. MDAC seeks to improve the quality of life for all individuals with Down syndrome, regardless of age, by improving and expanding upon opportunities at both the community and state level. While MDAC’s principal focus is on issues involving Down syndrome, MDAC believes that all opportunities benefitting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities must be supported.
