If you have questions on navigating premed life as a minority student or just want some general advice from current medical students, please fill out this form by Friday, August 28th at 11:59 PM.

The University of Pittsburgh’s Premedical Organization for Minority Students (POMS) is inviting medical students from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine’s Student National Medical Association (SNMA) chapter to answer any questions that any minority premedical students may have. The panel will occur on Sunday, August 30th from 3 to 4 PM. After you sign up here, you will get an email with a Zoom link and invitation by Saturday, August 29th, so please make sure to check your emails. Students of all years, from freshmen to graduate students interested in medical school, are invited to attend.

SNMA is committed to supporting current and future underrepresented minority medical students, addressing the needs of underserved communities, and increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent and socially conscious physicians.

POMS, a chapter of SNMA, is an organization that promotes the active participation of minority groups in medicine. POMS gives aspiring members of underrepresented minority groups who seek a future in medicine the opportunity to experience it first-hand through a series of guest speakers, activities, and workshops. In addition, members receive information on medical schools and MCAT preparation. POMS encourages diversity among medical professionals, and is always seeking interested members.
