The Discussion Project Virtual (online) Application for Fall 2022
WHAT IS IT?
The Discussion Project is a professional learning series to support university instructors in designing, implementing, and facilitating high quality classroom discussion. The online version, The Discussion Project Virtual, is an online training for facilitating online *synchronous* discussion in classes up to 40 students. The skills learned in the online version are highly applicable to the in-person classroom.
WHO CAN TAKE THE COURSE?
Any UW-Madison instructor may apply: faculty, academic staff, and graduate students (teaching assistants, lecturers, etc.).
WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?
The Discussion Project Virtual consists of 7, two-hour synchronous sessions in Zoom, each preceded by about one hour of asynchronous preparatory work in Canvas.
WHEN IS IT?
Fridays, 10am-12pm: 9/16, 9/23, 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/ 28
HOW DOES THE APPLICATION WORK?
This Google Form is an application for the training; it is not a sign up. We will notify you within a week if you have been accepted and send calendar invitations for the session dates. When you fill in the application, it will automatically send a receipt to your email containing your responses, should you like to flag that email.
