Rustic Chair Making, with John Bajda
May 14, 2022 - 8 AM - 4 PM  :  Orientation Meeting Wednesday, May 4th - 5:30 PM
ME School - Room #295
$75 (1 chair, 2 participants may work on 1 piece).  Can make your choice of bent willow, rocker or garden bench.

John has been teaching rustic furniture and bent willow classes since about 2000. He has been a hobby woodworker for many years, and started building the rustic furniture after retiring from teaching for 32 years in McGregor High School. After making a few projects, he was asked to teach a class for community education at McGregor School, and after teaching the first class there, it expanded to teaching classes in many of the community education programs in the area.

Most of the classes are held in two sessions.  The first session, (usually about 2 hours) is a discussion of materials used, identification of willow or other sticks, where to harvest, tools needed, and then a demonstration of a project constructed for the class.

After the demonstration session, the class participants are given a period of time(usually a week or two) to decide on a project, collect their material and then return for a one day work session. Most participants can finish their projects in 5 to 7 hours.
