ANU MTC Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct outlines the expectations of members of the Australian National University Musical Theatre Club (ANU MTC) whilst representing the Club. The Code of Conduct has been written in respect to the values of the Club, and its objective of fostering an environment that is free of discrimination and harassment, where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, can contribute fully, and have equal opportunities.

The Code of Conduct is outlined in the ANU MTC Constitution, including the process taken if there is a breach of this Code of Conduct (Section 5.2).

All members (and people required to abide by the Code of Conduct [refer to Section 6.6 of Constitution]) agree to: *

1. Abide by the ANU Musical Theatre Club Constitution at all times

2. Uphold the Club’s Values whilst representing the Club

3. Treat everyone with respect

4. Show respect in regards to other’s religion, race, gender, sexual orientation and other aspects of their identity

5. Support and empower others around them, taking interest in the community

6. Act with integrity in all dealings and collaborations with other members or associates of the Club

7. Be fair, courteous, considerate and honest in all dealings with others

8. Encourage growth in selves and others in an open and positive manner

9. Act in a way which aims to maintain safer spaces in order to create a collaborative community (refer to the guidelines in Appendix A)

10. Raise any concerns or conflicts of interest appropriately, and where applicable, through processes outlined in the constitution.

Every person has the right to be free from harassment and discrimination. Harassment and discrimination will not be tolerated, condoned, or ignored. The ANU MTC will not tolerate discrimination, bullying, verbal or physical abuse, or sexual harassment against any member or associate member of our Club. *

We have adopted the guidelines established by the Alliance of White Anti-Racists Everywhere - Los Angeles (AWARE-LA), and the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater and we respect that this is their work.
