Improving Access in Canvas Courses
A common barrier to Universal Design in Canvas courses is the use of scanned articles and book excerpts, which makes it impossible for screen readers to access the content.  This hands-on workshop will show how to transform scanned documents into readable text files, using Adobe Acrobat Pro (on Windows and Mac) and iPad Notes.  Participants are asked to bring their laptops and/or iPads to the workshop, with updated software.  Instructor: Jim Lacey
3 Ideas to Humanize your Online Class On-the-Fly!
Our classes are already in full swing, but there is still time to implement some small changes that can help you improve the engagement of your students and the time you can save! Attend this workshop and learn how! Instructor: Ana Emlinger
Creating and Sharing Screencasts
THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR TODAY AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED
Learn the basics of “screencasting”, recording videos of action taking place on your screen. We will look at the workflow of creating a screencast using our free video tool, YuJa. You will also learn how to make your screencasts accessible by adding closed captions and embedding your videos in Canvas. In addition, you’ll learn some advanced YuJa features such as adding comments, notes, and questions to videos. .Instructor: Hedrick Ellis

 Canvas Gradebook, SpeedGrader, and Rubrics
Learn about the tools that Canvas provides to assess students' learning and provide meaningful feedback:  the Gradebook to keep students updated of how they are performing in the course, SpeedGrader for commenting on assignments, and Rubrics for communicating focused feedback. Participants should be familiar with creating Canvas Assignments. Instructor: Jim Lacey
Google Forms
Google Forms is a powerful tool for collecting data. It's free and easy-to-use and forms can be embedded into Canvas. We will share ideas on how we might use Forms for surveys, assessments, exit tickets, and event registrations. Then you will get hands-on time to build your own Google Form that you can use with your students. Instructor: Hedrick Ellis
Minimalist Design: Nothing but the Essentials
As you use Canvas for more of your course material, one of the challenges can be that key information gets harder to find. We'll focus on design strategies to help make the essential course information pop. Instructor: Ana Emlinger
