Businesses and non-profits have an opportunity to have their assigned adopted drains they maintain painted. The artwork can consist of their branding and creative ways to promote keeping the storm drains clean and clear.
Logansport Utilities is seeking volunteer "artists" to paint the adopted storm drains for the businesses/non-profits as part of its ADOPT-A-DRAIN initiative. Artists at all levels are welcome to participate, no experience is necessary.
Artists will be provided with the supplies needed, including paint, brushes, tape, and contact info for their assigned business or non-profit organization to collaborate on design and timeline. Painting will occur during nice weather times only.

Designs should include one or more of the following concepts:
- Stormwater pollution prevention (littler, yard waste, grass clippings, leaves, cigarette butts, vehicle fluids, pet waste, motor oil, soapy water, etc.)
- Aquatics like the rivers, wildlife, habitat
- Quality of life (clean water for recreation, drinking, natural beauty, agriculture, watershed protection, etc.)
- Nods to the WE HEART CLEAN WATER campaign
Design Criteria
Artists are encouraged to visit the assigned drain inlet in person to get a feel for the actual size and sun factors.Each storm drain is the property of the Logansport Utilities so all designs must be approved by LU. (Designs may not contain any business promotions of non-drain adopters, nor include any breach of intellectual property, brands or trademarks, or depictions of illegal activity.)Designs can be painted on the area surrounding the drain and run to or incorporate the drain. Designs must be public friendly and understandable.The final painting must match the proposed design.The artist further grants Logansport Utilities the following exclusive rights: - Reproduction (including electronic images) for promotion and educational purposes. - The right to remove the artwork (or sections of the artwork) from the site for any reason.
