Northwoods Forest School is a nonprofit, nature-based program in Pine River, Minnesota. Rooted in Waldorf and Scandinavian influences, we offer an outdoor-centered environment where childhood is cherished and learning is alive.

Our mission is to foster wonder, confidence, connection, and curiosity—while gently instilling a love of learning through hands-on experiences and organic academics that enrich your homeschool journey. Whether through storytelling, seasonal rhythms, or meaningful time in the woods, our days are designed to nurture the whole child.

🌱 Programs & Tuition


Preschool Program (Ages 3.5 to 6)

*Must be potty trained

  • $40 per day
  • 50% sibling discount (for one sibling)
  • $90/year student fee (per student, non-refundable, covers materials)
  • Gear Program: Winter and rain gear provided
  • Lunch Provided, suggested packed lunches from home as alternative or hearty snacks (bento box included)
  • Hours: 9:15 AM – 2:15 PM

Forest School (Ages 6 to 12)

  • $40 per day
  • 50% sibling discount for one sibling
  • $90/year student fee (per student, non-refundable, covers materials)
  • Outdoor exploration, handwork, and nature journaling
  • Packed Lunch, (bento box included)
  • Hours: 9:15 AM – 2:15 PM

Registration Window for Session 1: August 1st through 15th
Registration Window for Session 2: February 1st through 15th

💰 Tuition & Registration Acknowledgment

Northwoods Forest School tuition is $40 per day. A sibling discount of 50% applies for one sibling. There is a one-time, non-refundable student fee of $90 per student to cover materials for the year. Families are responsible for providing packed lunches (bento boxes are provided), and preschool students are enrolled in our Gear Program (winter and rain gear included).
