Thank you for your interest in joining the Latter-day Saint Democrats Caucus of Idaho! Our mission mirrors that of the Latter-day Saints Democrats of America, to promote the full participation of Latter-day Saints in the Democratic Party by encouraging more Latter-Day Saints to identify as Democrats, participate in the Democratic party, and vote for Democratic candidates. We do this by providing educational and social resources to Democrats who are also Latter-day Saints and others who are interested in participating in a “no shouting” environment. The Latter-day Saint Democrats of Idaho has been around since 2014 as a chapter of the Latter-day Saint Democrats of America and an official caucus of the Idaho Democratic Party. Like the Idaho Democratic Party, we are a big tent. We hope to create a home for Latter-day Saint Democrats who are conservative, moderate, liberal, and progressive. As a big tent, we are a living example of the power that is achieved when bipartisanship, compromise, and tolerance of ideas are put before limited, specific visions. Per caucus bylaws, membership shall be open to everyone who wished to participate in the stated goal of encouraging more Latter-day Saints to participate and feel welcome in the Democratic Party and vote for Democratic candidates. It is not required that an individual be a registered Democrat nor an Idaho resident in order to become a member of the caucus. Membership is defined as being in the caucus membership database and all members are automatically added to the caucus email list and will be invited to the private  Latter-day Saints Dems of Idaho Facebook Group.

Members must meet criteria outlined in caucus bylaws to gain voting eligibility. Voting eligibility is not required to maintain membership. Voting members must be a current resident of Idaho and have done at least two of the following in the given calendar year (January through December): (1) Attended one caucus committee meeting in-person or virtually, (2) Attended a caucus sponsored event/activity, (3) Donated at least $50 to the caucus, (4) Had a published letter to the editor in which they mention they are a member of the caucus, (5) Participated in a caucus sponsored Get Out the Vote (GOTV) or other outreach effort, or (6) Provided at least five hours of volunteer service to the caucus.
