Love Maine Trails Month - Long-Term or Behind the Scenes Project

This form is for groups who want to participate in 'Love Maine Trails Month', that do not want to list a public event, AND you want to be put in the running for a 'Love Maine Trails Month Award' of $1,000.  Love Maine Trails Month (LMTM) is organized by the Maine Trails Coalition (MTC) in partnership with Maine Trail Finder.

By filling out this Interest Form, you are letting MTC know: 

(1) that you have a project happening long-term or behind the scenes
(2) you'd like to be put in the running for a monetary award
(3) you agree to share data+ photos with us about your trail stewardship project(s) performed by volunteers, paid staff, or contractors by the end of your season.

>> Submit a Post-Event Form & Photos for your LMTM long-term/behind the scenes projects on or by SEPTEMBER 15th. We respect your limited time, and will accept end-of-season reports that you may already have developed in lieu of the form, as long as the information conveys info we ask for in the form. If there is any way to pull out just the June info, we would appreciate it.

Examples of projects that may not get listed on the LMTM Calendar include: 
- Any trail-related work that you think is relevant and performed by contractors, staff or volunteers
- Seasonal volunteer or staff performing trail-related projects (eg: park staff, ridge-runner, conservation corps leaders + trail crew, docents, etc) 
- regular seasonal tasks assigned to specific volunteer trail stewards

Type of trail work that we want to hear about:
- Anything related to improvements to trail surface to help mitigate erosion and improve drainage,
- Trail Infrastructure improvements (on-trail structures: bridges, turnpiking, stairs, drain dips, etc; accessibility modifications; benches; privy; trailhead access improvements)
-  New trail builds
- Wayfinding/signage projects
- Boundary/trail corridor maintenance (including invasive plant/native plant restoration projects)
- Regular seasonal tasks assigned to specific volunteer trail stewards
- An event you already know you'll have enough volunteers for, so you don't want to advertise
