The Students of Color Alliance (SOCA) is a socially, intellectually, and politically progressive alliance of people that provides programming to support students of color and their allies at Pomona College. SOCA strives to provide a safe space and build coalitions that affirm and educate about the multi-dimensional, intersectional identities of students of color, which include but are not limited to race, ethnicity, nation of origin, citizenship, religious affiliation, gender, sexuality, sexual orientation, ability, and socio-economic status.
SOCA is dedicated to ensuring mentorship, activism, and cultural groups on campus have enough resources to support students of color on campus. If you are a club or organization or a student that has an idea for an event that fits our mission statement and would like to receive some funding for the event, please fill this form out.
Things to keep in mind:
1. Please complete this form at least 5 business days PRIOR to the event date. If the spending is approved, you'll receive an email authorizing the purchase(s).
2. Expect to receive follow-up between 1-3 business days for simple purchases (small food orders, small orders of supplies, etc.). Larger expenses such as speaker contracts, equipment rentals, and travel expenses, will take significantly longer.
3. SOCA strongly prefers to pay for expenses directly instead of doing reimbursements or fund transfers.
