CCPA Leadership Nomination Form
This form a general nomination/application form for any appointed, or elected position affiliated with California College Personnel Association (CCPA). If you are nominating a colleague, CCPA leadership will reach out to notify them of the nomination and provide details about the opportunity.

All candidates elected and appointed candidates must become a member of CCPA (membership available for $30 annually).

CCPA LEADERSHIP DESCRIPTIONS
Please read the descriptions below as you consider the position(s) for which you will submit an application or nomination.
PRESIDENT-ELECT (Elected)
The president-elect shall be responsible for:

Collaborating with the president to coordinate the business of the Association.

Developing the slate of candidates for appointed Leadership Directorate positions and appointing members to all committees.
      a. appointed positions will fluctuate and change with the needs of the organization
      b. ad-hoc committees will be established to serve the needs of the organization

Presiding over the Leadership Directorate in the absence of the president. Absence of the president shall be defined as:
      a. The president’s inability to preside
      b. The president’s absence for longer than fifteen minutes after the time the meeting is supposed to begin, as stated on the
          agenda for that day.
      c. The president’s relinquishing of duty during a meeting
      d. The forced relinquishment of the president by two-thirds of the membership.

Participating in biweekly virtual Leadership Directorate meetings.
 
Other duties as deemed necessary by the President.

Updating the Leadership Directorate monthly on the CCPA membership count.

Collaborate with President to disseminate bi-annual general membership updates (i.e., general membership meetings, newsletter(s), mailings).

Attending the Annual Convention (pending institutional support, CCPA budget, sponsorships, and/or personal finances, etc.).


DIRECTOR OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (Elected)
The Director of Professional Development shall be responsible for:

Managing the educational and professional development for general membership.

Creating and chairing the professional development committee as needed.

Setting an annual theme for development and ensuring that this theme is incorporated into workshops offered at different locations throughout the state as well as at the annual meeting.

Coordinating state-sponsored programs and awards at the CCPA Institute and the ACPA Annual Convention.

Research, market, and distribute professional development opportunities within the state of California and in association with ACPA.

Other duties as deemed necessary by the President.


DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS (Elected)
The Director of Communications shall be responsible for:

Maintaining oversight of information dissemination within the Association.

Chairing the communications and marketing committee to manage social media and the website as needed.

Promoting the use of technology as a means of communication and networking within the Association, i.e., monthly CCPA e-newsletter.

Supporting communication efforts of the leadership officers.

Forwarding relevant communications from membership, sponsors, or partners to leadership officers.

Recording minutes at all Leadership Directorate meetings.

Maintaining and organizing all records of the Association.

Other duties as deemed necessary by the President.

DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP (Appointed)
The Director of Membership is responsible for:

Reaching out to individual members of the organization to offer support.

Developing a strategy to cultivate CCPA member affinity and engagement.

Cultivating and expanding membership benefits.

Extending congratulations for awards, promotions, and accomplishments.

Managing organizational email rosters and personally following up with those who have lapsed in membership.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, staying in touch with what's happening in higher education, connecting people to great opportunities, and celebrating fellow professionals.
MEMBER(S) AT LARGE (Appointed)
Member at large serves as a liaison to general CCPA membership and supporting the CCPA Leadership team with membership engagement, communication, and professional development.
GRADUATE STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE (Appointed)
Represent graduate students in student services, student affairs, and counseling based programs (or related field). Attend/participate in CCPA leadership meetings where they act as liaisons between graduate students and CCPA leadership, communicating the professional development needs of the graduate students to CCPA leadership.
