Brookdale Community College: Reading Circle
THE BOOK:
My Grandmother’s Hands: Racialized Trauma and the Pathway to Mending Our Hearts and Bodies by Resmaa Menakem

Brookdale Community College's Reading Circle, installment #4. After the 400 Years of Inequality Timeline we are continuing together as a professional learning community and delving deeper. Trauma is a collective experience, then, the healing must be collective as well. "You will not just read this book. You will experience it in your body - the only place where the mending of racialized (or any) trauma can happen." - Resmaa Menakem. This was a joint effort between the Bankier Library with (the now retired) Judi Ungar and Diversity & Inclusion. The reading circle is open to all-- Brookdale staff, faculty, students, families, community, from our home to yours. Everyone is welcome here.
