The opportunity to recognise the best junior should
simply reflect the roles and activities they have been involved in and may be
an encouragement award that recognises the member having a go and succeeding.
Nomination
via Google form with the nominator preparing a nomination narrative around the
following criteria and characteristics.
Criteria and
characteristics of a person that would be suitable for such an award:
It would be anticipated that the member attended all patrols, perhaps allowing
for 1 or 2 patrols where they have arranged a substitute, as well as possible
being a substitute for others.
The Member should
always be early to patrol and take a lead in setting up the patrol and checking
equipment.
They can be
seen to be practicing water-based tasks to become proficient.
Depending on
age, may have spent considerable time assisting training programs and or
Nippers.
They will
have attained some new qualifications during the season.
They will be
looking to attend more training and have set themselves on a course for
continued improvement.
They will
have shown initiative in their approach to patrolling or other activities they
have been engaged in.
They will
have supported other areas – such as Nippers as water safety.
They should
have supported activities like the working bee.
They will
have been the one person that always asks to support the club.
They
volunteer for other duties and ask how they can contribute more to the club.
