2024-25 Scheduling Requests for Current 9th Graders
FRESHMEN:
The time has come for you to select an elective class for next school year. Most students will only be scheduled into one elective class next school year, just like 9th grade (but you now have 30+ elective classes to choose from, WOW!). We aren't asking you to select only one class, though. We are asking you to select 6; keep reading to hear why...
Because some classes are very popular and tend to "fill up", we are asking that you select 6 electives that are your "FAVORITES". We are asking for 6 so that if any of your elective choices are "full", we still have some options to choose from. You need to place these 6 choices in the order that you most prefer/like, with #1 being your most favorite (the check boxes at the bottom make this easy). Don't choose any classes that you would not be satisfied with. To help, this form will show you which classes are available and also will offer course descriptions. Choose wisely!!
Most 10th graders take the same core courses, but we want to know which level of courses best suits your academic abilities and aspirations.

Don't be afraid of all of these words! They are here to help you choose the best elective classes for next school year. Read the descriptions below and decide which classes sound interesting to you. Please be aware that the last 5 classes in the list (the bottom ones that have the square box around them) are VERY challenging. Be prepared to work hard if you select any of those 5 classes. Course Selections
Below you will choose your core courses and electives for next school year. Keep in mind the type of courses we offer at CHS and choose accordingly.
Courses with asterisk (*) - High level courses meant to challenge students academically
Dual Enrollment (DE) - Students enrolled in DE courses are both enrolled at CHS and Nunez Community College for the same course. Students will receive a grade towards their high school transcript and their college transcript.
Advanced Placement (AP) - AP courses are college level courses that follow a national curriculum. Students take a National AP exam in May. Colleges will award college credit to a student who earns a score of 3 or better (on a scale 1-5) on the national exam.
