Job title: Ministry Assistant
Job summary: The Ministry Assistant will work with the Biblical Research & Ministry Specialist to prepare and lead Bible study and related spiritual formation activities for the professional dance company Glorify Dance Theatre. This position includes opportunities to facilitate Bible study discussions as well as develop exercises for integrating Scripture and movement. The Ministry Assistant may also speak about the theological connections in dance performances for some events with audiences ranging from preschool-age to adult.

Location: West Chester, PA, USA
Time commitment: 4 hours/week (hybrid); in-studio from 9:15 am T/W/R (see “Responsibilities” section for more details); remaining hours are flexible
Compensation: $25/hour
Status: Independent Contractor (self-employed)
Preferred start: August 1, 2023 or sooner
Contract term: August 2023-May 2024; potential opportunity to renew/increase hours & responsibilities

Responsibilities:
August: assist with creating a cohesive Bible study plan for the upcoming season.
Sept-May: attend company rehearsal starting at 9:15 T/W/R (excluding holidays) to lead or assist with Bible study and related activities.
T: lead prayer-journaling (10 min + prepare prompts and materials).
W: lead “scriptureography” exercise where dancers set movement to Scripture in order to memorize short passages (15 min + prepare prompts).
R: varies by week; assist Biblical Research & Ministry Specialist in leading inductive study/lead follow-up study/organize dancers’ testimony sharing (75 min/30 min/10 min + prep time).
Contribute occasionally to “The Word in the Wings” theology-and-dance blog.
Meet weekly with Biblical Research & Ministry Specialist.
Lead interactive/theology-and-dance segments for school/invitational performances.
Qualifications:
Understand GPA's statement of faith and affirm the Apostles' Creed.
Be curious about the Bible and how faith can be experienced through dance.
Previous experience leading small-group Bible study is a plus; Ministry Assistant will be trained in inductive method and other tools.
