Instructions To The Monitor/Evaluator

1. The candidate shall be provided with a simulated trailer or MC/DOT 306-406, MC/DOT 307-407, MC 331 trailers with remote shutoff devices.
2. The candidate shall be provided with tarps, pigs or pads, or dry containment.
3. The candidate shall be provided with a charged hoseline with a foam or fog nozzle, eductor and foam concentrate.
4.The evaluator shall tell each candidate on which trailer the remote shutoff valves will be used.
4. The candidate shall be given the instructions below before beginning the exercise.

Instructions To The Candidate

Given an identified dumped liquid product that is non water reactive and the proper tools shall successfully shutoff the remote valves.

6 Steps *

1) Wears full PPE.

2) Approaches from the upwind side.

3) Prevents direct contact with product.

4) Identifies the direction runoff will travel.

5) Places the appropriate retaining structure or barrier in advance of the spill (tarps, pads or pigs, or dry containment).

6) Operates remote shutoff device.

MC/DOT 306-406 Emergency shutoff valves are typically found near the front of the cab adjacent to the driver's door or at the rear of the MC/DOT 306-406 tank.

MC/DOT 307/407 Emergency shutoff valves (hydraulic or pneumatic) are typically located on the left front of the MC/DOT 307-407 tank.

MC331 Emergency shutoff valves are typically located in the left front and right rear of the MC331 tank.
