ESN Basel: Buddy Request
Hi there,

Going abroad, living in a new city, attending a new university and having - maybe - to deal with a new language can seem a bit daunting and overwhelming. We understand this and that's why we set up a buddy system.

All of our Buddies are local volunteers and many of them have been abroad as exchange students themselves. However, as they are volunteers, we cannot guarantee that we will find a suitable Buddy for every exchange student, but we will try our best! The Buddy will be there to answer your questions, help you finding your way around Basel as well as our university and give you "insider tips" on life in Basel.

Once you have filled out this form, you will be put onto our list and we will then match you with a suitable Buddy. The "big" matching will take place as early as possible.

Please let us know if you have specific wishes regarding your Buddy (e.g only a student who studies the same subject, only man/woman, etc.) and whether these wishes are a "must" or simply a "nice-to-have". If you only want a Buddy who studies the same subject, it will become harder to find a suitable Buddy for you. In general, we try to match people with at least similar fields of study but this is not always possible. If you have no requests/wishes at all, simply write "none".
