We are pleased you are interested in participating in the IB Diploma Programme. All applications are due on Friday, 25th of June 2021. You need to choose a variable component of the curriculum below.
Final decision regarding choosing the subjects lies with the Applicant. School committee in collaboration with the DP Coordinator can only confirm the choice within the school subject proposal.
You will may have an additional discussion with the university counsellor if necessary, after that we asked you to do the final choice (in August you may have the possibility to adjust the choice).
To ensure both breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding, students must choose at least one subject from five groups: 1) their best language, 2) additional language(s), 3) social sciences, 4) experimental sciences, and 5) mathematics. Students may choose either an additional course from group 2-4, or a subject from Pamoja online. At least three and not more than four subjects are taken at higher level while the remaining are taken at standard level.
Also to satisfy the language requirements of the full IB Diploma, the subjects must be combined as follows: students are required to follow one subject from group 1 and in addition, to select a second language from group 1 or 2. It is possible to study a third language as an elective instead of a subject from group 6.
If your choice is Bilingual Diploma you ought to pick one course from each of six groups and for satisfying the language conditions students are required to follow one Language from group 1 and in addition, to select a second language from group 1 too.
If your choice is IB Certificate, pick from 2 to 6 IB courses in any combination, depending on your interests.
A course needs to be launched when at least 4 students for it to go ahead as planned. Certain subject choices may not be available due to schedule clashes. Please consider an additional direction in case of understanding of the group at the chosen course.
Also you have an opportunity to take the IB classes online. For example, if you're passionate about film you could take Film SL online through Pamoja Education.
Additionally, online IB courses can be a great option for IB students who need a more flexible schedule. Notice that on-line courses are paid additionally. You may choose only one online course.
