Confidentiality

Counseling in a group setting often involves the disclosure of sensitive and personal information, so confidentiality is paramount. In order to protect your right to privacy, the things you disclose to your counselor and group facilitator will remain confidential between you and them.

All practitioners are bound by their professional codes of conduct as defined by their accrediting organisation.
However, there are occasions in which your counselor can break confidentiality without your consent, and these are:
1) Where you, the client, give consent for confidentiality to be broken and information to be shared.
2) Where the counselor is compelled by a court of law.
3) Where the information is of such gravity that confidentiality cannot be maintained. This includes instances in which the counselor considers the client or others to be in imminent danger. Your counselor will normally attempt to speak to you before breaking confidentiality.
Working professionally
We are registered members of the Netherlands Institute Of Psychologists (NIP) and abide by their ethical framework.
The owner and main psychologist, Vassia Sarantopoulou, is also a member of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) and a member of the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST).
For more information on the credentials of the rest of the psychologists working at AntiLoneliness, please visit our webpage: www.antiloneliness.com/antiloneliness-team.
Contact
Emails are the most preferable way of contacting your counselor and requesting/ providing information. Emails will be read and replied within 1-2 working days (excluding holidays or weekends) but should never be relied upon in an emergency.

Communication via phone is not guaranteed, as during working hours we are focused on our sessions and our clients and we block all distractions in order to give them full attention. If you approach us by phone and the call is not replied, please allow us some time to call back or reach out to us by email.

WE ARE NOT A CRISIS INTERVENTION FACILITY. Therefore, in emergencies, please contact your general practitioner, or call the national emergecy number, or go to the nearest emergency room.
