You are invited to a conversation and celebration with playwright Jocelyn Bioh, author of the acclaimed comedy "School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play." Karen Ward Holmes of WCVB will sit down with Ms. Bioh and director, Summer L. Williams, to discuss the origins of the play (set in Ghana in 1986), the societal pressures of beauty, and the growing representation of black females in popular culture. The discussion will include a short scene from the play and a Q&A. There will be a reception with refreshments and soft drinks to follow.
