Poultry Pest Survey
Thank you for your interest in this project!

The purpose of this project is to determine the diversity and prevalence of ectoparasites (mites and insects)  in commercial egg-layer facilities in the United States. This research is being conducted by scientists from the University of California Riverside and North Carolina State University.

This purpose of this form is for you to request to participate in the survey. If you are eligible, after completing this form you will be contacted and a box will be sent to an address that you provide. Inside the box will be cardboard traps and instructions for the placement of traps on your poultry facility. The traps must be placed near the birds in barns/coops. Instructions for the return of the traps and a return address label will be included. There is a short survey included that must be returned with the traps.

One survey contains 40 traps. This is enough to place 20 traps each in 2 barns (>25,000 birds/barn) or 10 traps each in 4 barns (<25,000 birds/barn).

All responses are confidential. No individual farms or properties will be identified at any time.

For any additional questions regarding the survey please contact Dr. Amy Murillo at <amy.murillo@ucr.edu> or 951-827-5853 (office) or 973-970-3401 (cell).
