Selection of the names for all new schools will be made in accordance with the following guidelines:

The name must be aligned with the mission and values of the District, which state that a name:
1) must inspire students; and
2) reflect the diversity of the OCDSB Community; and
3) reference the local natural environment (geographical features, flora, fauna, etc.); or
4) reference the street, road, or major thoroughfare or geographical feature on which, or near to where, the school is located; or
5) reference the village, town, subdivision or community in which the school is located; or
6) pay homage to a famous Canadian event or achievement; and/or
7) posthumously honour an individual or family for their outstanding contribution to public life/education.
