Session 4: Youth Storytelling Workshop with OK, So Tulsa  (July 18-21)

Storytelling is an art that transcends the boundaries of age, and teenagers have stories, too! The stories we tell are how we make sense of our lives. With cultivation, storytelling can be a skill that taps into creativity and inspires future experiences. Exactly what our younger generations need!

Teenagers spend more time on electronics and digital devices, and as a result need a way to process the overwhelming information coming at them. Storytelling can help with this, and with the life experiences they are navigating.

In our week of storytelling camp, we will utilize a variety of prompts and exercises to open the doors of the imagination to explore the creation of a story.

Storytelling cultivates self-confidence, public speaking, and most importantly respectful listening. It is a tool that will positively influence teenagers on every level.

(On the last day of camp, each participant, if they choose, will tell their curated story on the stage.)Ages: 12-17

*Sessions 3 and 4 will take place during the same week, with Session 3 occurring from 8:30AM-12:30PM, and Session 4 occurring from 12:30PM-4:30PM

Then, we will apply our new skills and take inspiration from our found materials in order to build our very own lamp that captures the wonder of nature, the curiosity of mushrooms, and the imagination of magical woodland creatures.
