Title: Understanding the Stages of Grief and Loss


Goal Setting and Goal Getting: Presented by Jennalee Schafer with McKinney Psychology.  If you find yourself constantly setting unrealistic goals for yourself and then abandoning them, this session may be of help.  This discussion on setting goals is an opportunity to learn about SMART goals. Goals are an ongoing process, it is valuable to evaluate and revamp when necessary. You will also understand what happens in your brain when goals are appropriately set. Come prepared to engage and explore new ways of gaining motivation and reach your goals. 


Untangling the Web - Understanding the Stages of Grief and Loss:  Presented by Jennalee Schafer with McKinney Psychology, this session will discuss the difficult topic of grief and loss. You will come to understand that there is no right or wrong way to grieve. It’s a deeply personal process that can vary in intensity, duration and expression from person to person. Grieving is not linear. Come join us in being authentic and real about the experiences and feelings around grief and loss. 


Jennalee Schafer, B.SW. 

Jennalee is a practicum student at  McKinney Psychology and is in the final months of completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.  Jennalee acquired an undergraduate degree in social work from the University of Calgary. Jennalee’s practicum placement has been focused on providing Trauma Informed Counselling with adult clients.  Jennalee has a special interest in treating children and teens.  Jennalee hopes to provide care that will make a difference in helping clients through whatever struggles they may be facing.   


Jennalee was born and raised in Central Alberta. Jennalee is a wife and mother to three young children. Jennalee enjoys spending time outdoors and photography.
