It's that time of year again!! This year's National Festival & Tournament will take place May 10-14, 2020 in Ottawa. As a volunteer participating in the CIG National Festival & Tournament you are supporting one of the most memorable experiences that our young improvisers take part in. As many of you will remember, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform on one of Canada's most reputable stages and an exciting chance to meet like-minded friends from all over the country. Here is a bit more about our volunteer program: There are two volunteer streams at the National Festival & Tournament.
1. The first stream, the Senior stream, is for individuals who have volunteered at Nationals for more than two National Tournaments and are now well-versed in how the event is run. Volunteers in this stream take on positions like Head Ref, WITB leader, Producer in Training, Head of Registration, Senior Trainer and so much more!
2. The second stream, the Leadership Program, is for volunteers who are new to the National Festival & Tournament, but as all-star volunteers at the regional level, are looking to gain more experience. This is the perfect opportunity to hone one’s improv skills while strengthening a leadership skill of choice (which might include anything from stage management and theatre production to event management, public speaking, or team-building). Participants in this program will take part in five incredible days of connecting with other like-minded people, joining a team of emerging performers, educators, and arts administrators from across Canada while learning from some of the most seasoned trainers and producers.
ALL PARTICIPANTS will be asked to arrive in Ottawa by 4pm on Sunday May 10th and be available each day for workshops, volunteering and evening performances until Thursday May 14th at 11pm. (Check out of the hotel is Friday May 15th at 10am, but don't forget about the optional group brunch outing before you head home!) Participants MUST be available May 10th at 4pm until may 14th at 11pm.
APPLICATIONS ARE DUE by Friday, January 27th, 2020 at 11:59pm EST. Selected applicants will be contacted by February 12th, 2020. Email
