We at Find Your Path are so excited to announce our FREE 2021-2022 School Year Virtual Afrocentric Mentorship & Enrichment Program. The program will run for 8 months from October 2021 until May 2022, with monthly live sessions that take place every Sunday at 3pm to 5:30pm over Zoom. Participants will also have an additional session with their paired mentor at least once each month.
This program is intended for youth living in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and designed with youth ages 11 to 15 (grades 6-10) in mind, however students outside the GTA, and those a bit younger or older are welcome to sign up!
The goal of this program is to put students on a path of academic success by increasing their academic engagement and personal resilience. Through hearing from successful Black leaders, engaging in conversations on a variety of Afrocentric themes and academic subjects, along with bonding with Black mentors currently pursuing post-secondary education.
Monthly sessions will include presentations from exciting guest speakers working in academia or industry, followed by group discussions and activities. Each month, we will focus on a different academic subject (eg. chemical engineering or anthropology), reflect on a new Afrocentric principle (e.g. Kujichagulia/self-determination or Umoja/unity).
