Volunteers make a huge difference!  Below is a list of of volunteer opportunities compiled by staff and School Council.  Please consider volunteering at Brisbane P.S.  If you are interested, please complete this form.  It can be completed online or printed and sent into the school with your child.  Volunteers will be asked to complete a volunteer agreement form. Please be aware that information in this form (including your email/phone contact) will be shared with appropriate School Staff and Parent Organizers of events you have indicated an interest in.   Volunteers are also required to complete a police check - Thank you!

This can include a variety of activities from reading with students to preparing materials.  Teachers will contact you and make arrangements.

School Council
School Council is a forum through which parents and other members of the school community can contribute to improving student achievement and school performance.  All parents are welcome and encouraged to participate in a capacity they feel comfortable with.

Fresh Snack Program
Volunteers help to prepare and distribute snacks each week on Fridays.  Volunteers arrive at 9 am and stay until 10:30.  We also require an afternoon shift to clean the bins.  Depending on the number of volunteers you can sign up for a weekly or monthly commitment.

Fun Food Friday Lunch Program
Volunteers arrive by 11:30 on Fridays and help to organize lunches into class bins.  Volunteers can sign up weekly or monthly.

Help with 'Special Events' (BBQ, Move A Thon, etc.)
You would be contacted by event organizers prior to the event to make arrangements and scheduling.

Yearbook
The yearbook is an ongoing activity throughout the year.  Volunteers may use school cameras to help chronicle school events and submit to the yearbook coordinator.

Siverbirch Reading Program
These reading clubs aim to introduce children to excellent Canadian Fiction and Non-Fiction run from February to May.  Volunteers are needed to help prepare the books and track weekly book borrowing.

Help to keep our front gardens beautiful.

Staff Appreciation Lunch
Volunteers help to organize a luncheon for the school staff in June.  Activities include providing a luncheon dish, setting up or cleaning up on the day of the luncheon.
