HBNS Curriculum Exception Request Policy

The requirements for HBNS programs are published in the UD Catalog.  However, there may be rare instances in which it is appropriate for a student to petition HBNS Faculty to deviate from the course requirements and/or prerequisites or co-requisite sequencing. This process is intended to allow for significantly extenuating circumstances which prevent the student from being able to proceed through the coursework as intended.  Students are advised to include all relevant information related to why they are making the request to help the faculty in making their decision.

  1. Prior to completing and submitting the HBNS Curriculum Exception Request Form, the student must first consult with their advisor.
  2. This form and all supporting documentation will be reviewed by the appropriate program faculty:
             HBS Majors: Dr. Janice Bibik
             Nutrition Majors: Prof. Jennifer Thorpe
  3. Requests will be discussed and decided upon at the monthly faculty meeting.
  4. Following the faculty meeting, students will be notified of the outcome.
