For helpful background: The Job Location & Development (JLD) program is designed to support students attaining paid work (not employed by VCU) to make the college experience more affordable and assist in career development. We collect (and report to the Department of Education, our funder and regulator) basic hiring data from employers and current students who engaged in JLD opportunities, such as fairs, events, and workshops. This directly enables us to continue to do the work we do through the JLD program. So, you may get a request from me here and there—as you engage in JLD offerings—to learn about getting hired this academic year.
