Because most of us tend to live our lives in echo chambers of like-minded people, the ideas and solutions put forth by other political parties are likely to be either unfamiliar and so different from our own as to appear threatening to the amygdala. We rarely hear the views presented calmly and reationally. We don’t get a chance to learn why those views make sense to the people who hold them.
For this exercise, choose an issue you care about and follow the links provided to the learn a bit about the “why” behind what the “other side” has to say.
