POLICY DESCRIPTION

This Policy is implemented on an ad hoc basis to reflect the current understanding that group singing warrants additional precautions. It is recognized that that understanding and broader health policies may change due to restrictions or guidance from BC CDC or Provincial Health, which in turn may influence this policy.  

COVID-19 VACCINATION DEFINITION
For the purposes of this Policy, “full vaccination” and “fully vaccinated” are understood to mean that two doses in a two-dose vaccine series or one dose in a one dose series (i.e. Janssen/Johnson & Johnson) have been administered to the person in question, and that at least two weeks have passed after the administration of the final dose.

COVID-19 VACCINATION FOR SINGERS
CSMA requires that all singers who are eligible for vaccination against COVID-19 be fully vaccinated when participating in any in-person activities during the 2021-2022 season.

For singers who are too young to be vaccinated, this Policy shall apply if and when COVID-19 vaccinations are approved for their age range, allowing for a reasonable window of time for administration of first and second doses, plus at least two weeks for the vaccine to take maximum effect. Such a timeline will be communicated as soon as possible.

Vaccination status information shall be collected, documented, and saved in the manner which best protects this sensitive medical information, and will only be shared with such staff and volunteers who have a legitimate need to know this information.

COVID-19 VACCINATION FOR STAFF, CONTRACTORS, VOLUNTEERS
Full COVID-19 vaccination is required of all staff, contractors, and volunteers who work with members in person during the 2021-2022 season.

Vaccination status information shall be collected, documented, and saved in the manner which best protects this sensitive medical information, and will only be shared with such staff and volunteers who have a legitimate need to know this information.

COVID-19 SAFETY
All in-person activities for the 2021-2022 season, including rehearsals, workshops, tours, retreats, and performances, will be guided by CSMA’s current COVID safety procedures. These procedures are subject to regular review and revision based on current public health conditions.
