To qualify for the LMU GIG, you must attend a workshop for each of the three essays or meet with the Writing Center to review all three essays. Download this checklist for further instructions and to track that you've completed the GIG requirements.

You may choose to attend evening workshops (5:30 - 7:00 pm) on Jan 30, Jan 31, and Feb 1; a Saturday workshop (12:30 - 4:30 pm) on Feb 3 in whole or in tandem with the evening workshops; or meet with the Writing Center for a review in order to meet the requirements.

More about the Saturday "Marathon" Workshop: In this 4-hour session, Gilman applicants will work through the Statement of Purpose, Building Mutual Understanding, and Follow-on Service Project essays in one day. If students choose to attend only one or two portions of this workshop, they are expected to arrive during check-in times, sign in, and be present for the entirety of that portion. This is an optimal choice for students who had schedule conflicts during the other workshop times. Students should plan to arrive to this workshop session with the same level of preparation as the weekday workshops.

Please note that seating is limited. Registered students are expected to attend. Those who can no longer attend, must email fellowships@lmu.edu as soon as possible so we can make seats available for other attendees.
