Advocacy
The Advocacy Committee’s role is to educate members on legislative issues and coordinate advocacy efforts in support of IWO’s wide legislative agenda. We do this through educational sessions, issue oriented subcommittees, pre-legislative session meetings with legislators, coordination with other activist groups and use of Action Network alerts. Please join us if you have specific issues you are interested in, want to represent IWO in other activist groups, like organizing events with legislators or desire to learn about how to advocate more effectively.  

Bylaws
The Bylaws committee reviews IWO's operating documents and recommends changes as needed to keep IWO working as we intend.  This year we'll begin with a review of the Articles of Incorporation, which haven't been amended since 1969, and continue with amendments to the Bylaws as appropriate.
All IWO members are welcome on the committee.  We'll have a working group of lawyers and IWO past and current Presidents to make recommendations to the larger committee for review and presentation to the Executive Committee and the full membership.

Endorsement
The Endorsement Committee will hold events in support of the upcoming Fall 2022 & Spring 2023 Elections.  We welcome membership to join this committee to assist with interviews and the upcoming endorsement discussions and votes.

Membership
The Membership Committee seeks out new members and provides prospective members with information about the IWO. The committee also sponsors activities during the year for IWO members.

Program
The Program Committee organizes two major IWO events a year, the annual meeting and luncheon. Now that we’ve held our annual meeting, it’s time to plan IWO’s annual luncheon in the fall. Program Committee members will help select speakers, a caterer, decorate the venue and assist with additional preparations days before and after the luncheon.
