Expanding Community 3 - New Jersey 2024

Expanding Community is a collaborative show, which premiered at mignolo arts center in Metuchen, NJ, of various artists spanning the east coast from as south as Virginia and as north as New Hampshire. Geared at creating partnerships between different choreographers to expand their artistic community, Expanding Community seeks to grow how many artistic partnerships and connections we each have. The show is under the direction of Tess Saoirse Liddy, a Boston-based dancer and choreographer who discovered her choreographic voice in New Jersey at Drew University and therefore seeks to bring the two communities closer together. The featured artists in the first shows were: Emily Rosales, Jeanann Dorobis, Gauri Bhatkhande, Gwen McGovern, Kaylee Mahan, Mikala Nims, Molly Huey, Natalie Frances Long, Seychelle Kulik, Libby Bullinger, Lindsay Gibbons, Shirin Kuppusamy, Darrigan DeMattos, Annabelle Platt and Tess Saoirse Liddy.

The show accepts all styles of dance, with a performance limit of 2-6 minutes per dance. The dances must be ORIGINAL WORK by one of the artists applying or performing. Artists are responsible for their own music rights which is explained to them upon acceptance into the show before they commit. All dance pieces must be 4 dancers or less.

This show will be the third installment, on July 20, 2024 at 7pm. This form will close on Sunday February 11 at 11:59pm.
