Cafe Scientifique-Taos: Teen Leader Application
Café Scientifique-Taos is a program for high school teens who are interested in hot topics in the news related to science. The program helps teens develop a better understanding of science and offers a way for them to get involved in their community, engage their peers in informal science education, meet scientists, and develop new leadership skills. A strong Teen Leadership Team is important for the success of the program.

Teens have an opportunity to fully take ownership of the program by serving as a Teen Leader. Each Teen Science Cafe has a Teen Leadership Team that helps prepare presenters, while simultaneously involving their community to attend each Café. Through this program, Teen Leaders ultimately run the monthly meetings and most aspects of the Cafe program.

Teen Leaders are supported by an Adult Leader who provides support and training, as needed.

Every Teen Leader involved in Cafe Scientifique has the potential to positively impact the program.

This application form provides you with an opportunity to share relevant information about yourself, along with your interests in science and community service as a Teen Leader for Cafe Scientifique-Taos.

Upon submission of your application, you will receive a written notice confirming receipt with your application, closely followed by an invitation to participate as a Teen Leader for the 2019-2020 Cafe season.

The first Cafe Scientifique program will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. As a Teen Leader, you will have an opportunity to select your first Teen Leader Meeting date, to be scheduled in early September 2019.
