How do we express Shin Buddhist values on important, yet volatile issues affecting our community?
As Shin Buddhists, in times of suffering, we look to our teachings, sangha, and Amida Buddha for both personal and collective guidance. The Gaza War continues to disrupt the lives of Israelis and Palestinians with terrible suffering. The global community seems divided into one side or the other. Our human nature likely invokes personal outlooks based on individual circumstances. Let’s learn from each other.
Resource readings come from an essay by a Shin Buddhist lay follower and the New Year message from Gomonshu Kojun Ohtani.
1. How do Shin Buddhists address social issues differently than other organizations?
2. Do Shin Buddhists have a unique perspective to share with our community?
3. How might we really "Go to the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha for guidance"?

After registering, you'll receive the Zoom link and reminders. Future subjects and readings will be decided by you, the DIALOGUE Project participants.
1. A key goal for the dialogues is for all of us as fellow travelers to participate in the discussion, share thoughts, and understand each others perspectives.
2. The dialogues will work best when each participant completes the readings and/or videos in advance and comes with a mind open to hearing, understanding, and learning from varying perspectives.
3. Let us together create a safe and enjoyable space to explore the intersection of Buddhism and social issues.
When we meet in person, I understand that I'm expected to be fully COVID vaccinated, wear a mask, and physically distance.
NOTE: If participants exceed 10, smaller groups may be created.
