Terms and Conditions of Pro Dog School Obedience Classes

Training methods in class are kind and reward –based. Classes are designed to be fun for both you and your dog and to equip you for training your dog at home. Sessions are limited to 3 visiting puppies to ensure that there is time for close attention. The Pro Dog School terms outlined below are in place to protect you and your dog as well as myself.

1. Covid-19 Safety Guidelines: In order to reduce the risk of potential Covid-19 transfer I will take your puppy from you outside the property. I will clip my own lead onto them and you can take your own lead home. I will wear a mask and gloves on handover. I will wipe your puppies down with an antibacterial wipe (pet safe) before and after the session to avoid any cross contamination between dogs. Please limit drop off to one person per puppy if possible. I am happy to chat to anyone in the family via Zoom in the session.

You are welcome to have a guide around the outside of the house and garden but I ask that you please do not touch anything, such as doors or gates on the property. Please also maintain a 2m distance at all times.

Please do not bring your puppy to sessions for 14 days if you, or anyone you have been in contact with, has any symptoms of Covid- 19. After that, please only return if you are feeling better and have no further symptoms.

2. Handling: Harsh handling or the use of physical force on your puppy is not allowed. Choke and check chains along with flexi leads are also banned. I will treat your puppy like I treat my own dog, with care and attention, like they are one of the family. All chews, toys and treats are provided.

3. Bookings: Refunds are subject to you giving 7 days notice prior to the session start date. Once the sessions have started, no refunds are possible. 48hrs notice is required if you need to postpone a session. No refund or transfer will be offered if you cancel within 48hrs of a session.

4. Vaccinations and Health: It is recommended that all dogs are kept up to date with their vaccinations for their own health, but is not compulsory. Dogs who are ill, injured or in season (bitches) are not allowed to attend. Sessions are for puppies up to 6mths of age only.

5. Control of Dogs: All puppies must be on a lead when coming into the home. Please try to toilet your puppy just before the session (there is a grass verge outside), but it is appreciated that accidents will happen. If your puppy is likely to bark a lot in the session please let me know before the attending so that we can help you to manage it in advance. You can also request our "barking in class" help sheet.

Puppies with a history of aggression towards other dogs or humans are not allowed to attend our socialisation sessions. People who knowingly enrol an aggressive puppy on one of our sessions will be asked to collect their puppy and will forfeit a refund.

6. Insurance: Pro Dog School is insured with professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

7. Filming and pictures: the training and socialisation sessions can be watched live via Zoom (up to 30mins per hour to allow for settling in) where you can ask questions and listen to directions and guidance. Sessions are recorded so you can watch at a later date if need be. Photos of the session will also be sent via Whatsapp.
