“Engagement first, then content, then rigor. In that order.” - author, speaker, educator Kelly Gallagher
Even the most experienced of PBL-using teachers will tell you that a successful PBL-infused classroom does not develop units for every second of every day. What a real PBL-infused classroom does is embrace a PBL mindset that is infused with research-based engagement strategies. All.The.Time.

If virtual classrooms have highlighted anything, it’s that Engagement is key. Join @TweenTeacher Heather Wolpert-Gawron as she shares the best engagement strategies featured in her book, Just Ask Us: Kids Speak Out on Student Engagement.  After conducting a nationwide survey of students focused on what engages them as learners, educator Heather Wolpert-Gawron curated the most frequently named strategies. Not surprisingly, each of the evidence-based strategies doesn’t just support the PBL process, but is vital to its success. These strategies are the mortar and glue that hold the PBL process together.

Join Heather as she shares advice on how to create an engaging learning environment even in-between PBL units. After all, our classrooms must continue to embrace that mindset in order for any PBL unit to be successful. Heather is a nationally recognized PBL expert and a staff blogger for Edutopia.  You're in for a real treat meeting Heather - she'll have you hooked from the very first minute!

In this day-long webinar, you’ll walk away with a toolkit of engagement strategies to support the following:
Successful student collaboration
Deepening the inquiry process
Creation of more rigorous and authentic public products
Peer-to-peer coaching and feedback cycles
Efficient and Motivating Assessment Design
