Solutions and Advancements through Research for Water and Air Request for Proposal | Spring 2025

This Letter of Interest (LOI) form is for potential proposals to Solutions and Advancements through Research for Water and Air (SARWA) as a part of J-PAL’s global Air and Water Labs (AWL). The Air and Water Labs intend to foster deep collaboration between government stakeholders, J-PAL regional offices, and researchers in the J-PAL network to innovate, test and scale evidence-informed solutions.

SARWA will fund proposals for studies implemented in India. Pilots and full evaluations will be considered under this funding window, only if they are planned in collaboration with state and central government partners (substantiated via Letters of Support or MoUs). Proposal Development grants can be utilized to build such government relations and collaborations.

Please note: If you are interested in applying, please first reach out to the SARWA team  to learn more about matchmaking opportunities with current partners and understand requirements for studies with new government partners. J-PAL affiliates and  invited researchers, J-PAL postdocs and J-PAL staff with PhDs are eligible to apply to AWLs. Interested applicants must then submit this Letter of Interest form explaining their high-level proposal, government partnership, and implementation plans. If the lab determines that your project qualifies, you will be invited to submit a full proposal for consideration.

Please also note the application deadlines: LOIs are due 30th  January 2025 at 11:59 PM EST and full proposals are due March 20th, 2025 at 11:59 PM EST
